"Print and Destroy" is a silkscreen by artist Shepard Farey, aka Obey, in which he depicts the important relationship between print and art. The title alludes to the phrase "Skate and Destroy" by CR Stecyk, a famous American artist, photographer and filmmaker who documented skateboard culture. A culture by which Obey himself is very fascinated.

The printer is the protagonist of this work because he believes that without printing, his art would not exist, because he has never been inspired by paintings, but by prints: whether on T-shirts, flyers, stickers, album covers... And he himself has used printing to spread his art and thanks to it he has been able to reach an audience that even the most famous paintings cannot reach.

As is typical of his style, this work is the result of a fluid communication, it can be defined as a liquid work: in the digital age an image can be reproduced in infinite forms and ways, from the multiple of an author, as can be a silkscreen, up to the digital virality, which helps the image itself to take depth and credibility.

The silkscreen is manually signed by the artist at the bottom right and dated 2019.
