Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta)

Mr. Brainwash, whose real name is Thierry Guetta, is a contemporary artist born in France in 1966. His life and career have become a cultural phenomenon thanks to his unique style and his presence in the world of urban art. Thierry Guetta was born in Garges-lès-Gonesse, a suburb of Paris. He grew up in a family of Sephardic Jews from Tunisia. During his youth, he developed a deep interest in street art and urban culture. Thierry becomes an amateur videomaker, filming everyday life and interviewing street artists. The turning point in his artistic life came when he met the famous British street artist Banksy in Los Angeles in 2006. Banksy was in town for his documentary "Exit Through the Gift Shop", and Thierry Guetta convinces him to let him follow his crew to document his work.

During this time, Thierry begins to create art himself, using the name "Mr. Brainwash". In 2008, Mr. Brainwash made his first solo exhibition, "Life is Beautiful", in Los Angeles. This exhibition immediately became a success, with thousands of visitors and media attention.

His style is characterized by a mix of pop art, street art and influences from Warhol, Basquiat and other great contemporary artists. Since then, Mr. Brainwash has continued to produce art in various forms, from canvas works to large-scale public installations. His exhibitions have been hosted all over the world, from New York to London, from Miami to Hong Kong. He has collaborated with world-famous artists and has created special projects for companies such as Coca-Cola and Adidas. His art is often playful, ironic and provocative, using pop icons and references to mass culture. His works are appreciated both by art collectors and by the wider public, thanks to their immediacy and sense of joy that transmit.

Mr. Brainwash has become a prominent figure in the contemporary art scene, provoking debates and discussions about the nature of art itself and its relationship with the commercial and media world. His enigmatic identity and eclectic approach to artistic creation make him a fascinating and controversial figure in the contemporary art scene.
