Enrico Baj and Raymond Queneau, Meccano ou l'Analyse Matricielle du Langage, artist's book with 17 etchings

The artist's book includes 17 etchings of Enrico Baj and poetries of Raymond Queneau. Edition: 174 samples signed in colophon with 17 color etchings in relief. Press: stamped in Milan at the Tosi and Ballasich's studio. The work is composed from a long rectangular volume with black case box. Queneau (mathematician, pataphysicist and poet) has analyzed the combinable possibilities of the language. He studies the possible combinations throught a series of mathematical schemes and, therefore, he composes the pataphysical poetries. Baj illustrates these poetries with the same principle to create the images. He mixes the structural elements of the Meccano toy to obtaining many different compositions which are not rational, but pataphysical “imaginary solutions”.
