Piet Mondrian, Untitled, litograph, 66x50 cm
The litograph depicts Piet Mondrian's iconic composition.
Within the painted surface the thick black and gray lines are orthogonal to each other and create rectangular and square figures. The composition does not have a geometric center, in fact the edge of the painting cuts cleanly through the colored backgrounds. The main colors are the primary ones such as yellow, red and blue arranged according to a compositional order that seeks formal and chromatic balance. The distribution of the colors and the variation of the size of the geometric shapes create a balance of weights in the composition.
The work has the signature printed in the lower right and is numbered 33/200 in the lower left.
Furthermore, the publisher's Artis Leonardo stamp is located in the lower left corner.
