Artwork by the Macchiaioli artist Giovanni Malesci, universal heir of the master Giovanni Fattori. It is made in oil on panel and dates from 1952.

The subject of the work is Giacomo Leopardi's tomb, located in the Parco Virgiliano in Piedigrotta, Naples.

The artist remained faithful to a style orientated towards the art of the Macchiaioli, preferring colour to outline, with details that are not detailed but are nevertheless immediately recognisable.
