The work belongs to the current of Macchiaioli and represents two oxen attached to the yoke in black and white. In the background there are cultivated fields, trees and a farm.
The work is authenticated in the lower right corner by the daughter of the artist Giovanni Malesci, Anna Malesci, who inherited the complete production from her father, Fattori's only universal heir.
