Colour lithograph by Enrico Baj; in this work the artist proposes one of his most emblematic subjects: the generals. The lithograph belongs to the suite "Larmes de Généraux" published by Igell Edition of Stockholm. The whole suite represents some famous generals in tears, represented as children from whom something has been taken away. In particular, the subject here is the Count de Guébriant, a French general who fought on the front line during the Thirty Years War. After a glittering career in the various European wars that raged among nations in the 17th century, Count Guébriant managed to take over the German city of Rottweil, but could not enjoy his success because he was mortally wounded during the battle. The use of trimmings and the combination of various fabrics make the silkscreen printing three-dimensional. The intense colours and the insertion of shiny elements give back a work of strong impact.

The work is signed bottom right and numbered 64/100 bottom left. The serigraphy is published in "Baj. General catalogue of original prints" on page 71.
