Kazimir Malevich, Sportivo, papier-mâché sculpture, 50x14 cm, ed. Guggenheim

A sculptural work curated by the Guggenheim Foundation, in a hand-painted posthumous edition dated 1996.

The work represents a sportsman, in the era of Supernaturalism, a work in which Malevich recovers the figurative with anti-naturalistic colours that represent the freedom of expression of man's individuality against the standardisation imposed by dictatorship.   

Below the base is the date and signature of the Guggenheim Foundation.
