Meloniski da Villacidro, Architectural dream, mixed technique on canvas, 80x80 cm, 2017

Against a backdrop dominated by a cobalt blue sky, the artist depicts an urban landscape which he places in a dreamlike and fantastic atmosphere. Two moons float above a small town, composed of various buildings of different shapes and sizes, and are attached by thin wires to illuminated street lamps. The architectural complex rests on a curved surface, where the artist inserts coins and other details to embellish it.

The whole composition is characterised by an idea of lightness and gracefulness, typical of the dreamlike and fantastic scenes depicted by the artist. Always experimenting with various different techniques, Meloniski also combines traditional painting and three-dimensional inserts of different kinds in this work, thus creating a plastic and dynamic alternation of surfaces.
