The iconographic power of classical art becomes an instrument to interpret reality itself according to the paranoid-critical method, merging tangible reality with the poetic dimension of dreams. In the last years of his career Dalì very often combined his surrealist visions with classical elements, which were a way for him to get closer to reality, but in a courtly way and paying homage to the highest art form according to the canons of the surrealist master.

In this work all of Dali's most iconic elements are composed and find a perfect balance, the rocks of his native land, the cypresses, the soft clock, classical figures and geometric shapes with an alchemical flavor form a fourth dimension poised between reality and dream.

The graphic work was created in 1988.
