Street Art

Street Art borns during the XX century like a street movement; its peculiarity is the exhibition of artworks on the walls of the cities. This rated classification was given by mass media, at the beginning with a negative acceptation, because they meant all kind of murals and graffiti appeared on walls, specially during the early 2000s, in unauthorized areas too.

Today, street art is very revalued, passing from being negatively connoted to being considered a real artistic current. The success of this movement is global: there are street art exhibitions all around the worlds and the value at the auctions is growing more and more. We only need to think of a name as Banksy to understand the massive hit The street artists want to promote a kind of art very offbeat, not used to please aesthetic taste of a general public, but to denounce the society's ills.

Some street artists, like La Pupazza or Noba, wants to beautify degraded spaces, redeveloping urban areas through art, colours and drawings. Some of the most used techniques are spray cans, collages and gesso.
