A first blush, from afar, the painting winks to an ambiguous effect of a fluctuating Milan, reflected on itself with respect to the horizontal axes drawn at 2/3 of the painting. Milan looks at mid-air and posed on an uncertain glare of a flow whose banks cut the city. It seems existing a “growing city”, stratifying on the top of another city. A new city that borns from the roof of an existing one, a Milan that is more than futuristic, a space age Milan as George Miller was looking Mad Max. Laser rays hit old flying objects symbol of the technologic passage. An apocalyptic vision for a modern and good metropolis. A vision of flames and fire shaking the ambience; a metropolis with the due respect sweats smoke and mist, it emits hiss and noises, it moves millions of people a billions of businesses. A metropolis with the due respect cannot be represented with its best skyline motionless and dressed up, where the architectural presences stands out like statues in a museum. A metropolis with the due respect is first of all life, is a crucible of unexpected situations which give it nourishment, energy, passion and continuous growth strenght. The work by Enrico Pambianchi wants to generate doubts on reality, through the depiction of reality itself, without approximating the reality to interpret it, nor to portrait it, but to make the indefinable mystery emerge. Center of his work is the allusion. With a small stratagem, far from all political talks, Pambianchi assimilates Milan to London, by creating a strong link. Far from socio-political prejudices and without narrative reference to Orwell or to the lyrics of Pink Floyd in the album Animals (picture 01), Pambianchi makes a pig-dirigible (pigs on the wing) near to the Pelli Tower realized by Cesar Pelli for Unicredit in 2012. A pink point floating in the sky. The painting celebrates the vital energy coming from the capital whose propagating centre is given by the Tower of the Unicredit group. Text by arch.
