The xylograph has been realized by the son of the painter, Lucien. It's taken from a Pissarro's drawing which was published on Die Impressionisten by Theodore Duret. The book, printed in limited edition (1000 copies in 1909), includes three original engravings by Renoir, one by Cezanne, one by Guillaumin, one by Morisot and this one by Pissarro. In this artwork we find the Pissarro's pasion for rural scenes: he often leaved Paris to discover French country and to paint en plein air the work of peasents.
