Giancarlo Prandelli, Architectural Project for Achademia Panthèros , Colored Pencil and Ink on paper, 42x29,5cm (D270)

An extraordinary drawing by Giancarlo Prandelli of an architectural invention for an academia. This piazza was designed for the Achademia Panthèros, a site of esoteric and architectural excellence. Prandelli even passed on the secrets he learnt from Leonardo’s artworks to the students at the academia. Interestingly, the sketch of the dome was inspired by the form and structure of an atom. He worked on this in accordance to the theories of the Greek philosopher, Democritus who stated that everything in the world is derived from a common origin, an atom. The concept used by the artist is explained in elegant writing on the corners of the design.
