This artwork is an oil on canvas, realised by Giovanni Malesci, an artist of Macchiaioli' s art trend and Giovanni Fattori's sole heir. It's well visible the technique and representation of Macchiaolis: the object of artwork is a rural scene, where a farmer works the fields and he's helped by two oxen, that pull the plow. The scene is very poor and simple. The colour is stretched to stains: light zones alternate dark zones, in order to make the idea of "light colour". The work is signed in the left bottom and on its back we can notice different stamps that give testimony of artwork's presence in some exhibitions, like for example the exhibit of restoration in 1972 and the first exhibition of Fascist labour union of fine arts, both organized in Firenze.
