Folder of engravings edited by Electa Modadori and dedicated to Hogarth.

A Harlot's Progress is the first important series of engravings by Hogarth, executed in April 1732. It was the great success of these six prints that brought the artist the fame that accompanied him throughout his life.

Hogarth tells the story of Mary (Moll), a young girl who has come to London from her companion and has become a prostitute after an affair with a rich Jewish merchant. In the last panel, Moll dies after contracting a venereal disease.

As is typical of this artist, he paints a very crude picture of London society at the time.

The engravings are reprints and have no signature or print run.
