Bloom is a print on paper by artist Tommaso Gabriele, representing a matryoshka doll in an urban-pop style. The matryoshka is the most well-known symbol of Russian folk art in the world; everyone has seen it at least once. This souvenir carries a deep meaning: a symbol of good omen, fertility, but above all a bond with the family.

The artist offers us cute matryoshkas, with very expressive and sweet features. Bloom is a black-haired doll with large but closed eyes, made up with an eye shadow that echoes the details of her clothing. She wears a dark blue dress with purple, yellow and black details, which are typical of Russian doll clothes.

Behind her figure is a light grey background, rendered with strong brushstrokes, blended with a midnight blue colour; this gives the subject a strong contrast, but at the same time exudes calmness and tranquillity. The work is signed in pen on the back.
