Rosa Olivares, Frida (hearts), ceramic sculpture, h 13 cm

Ceramic sculpture created by artist Rosa Olivares, representing a tribute to the famous painter Frida Kahlo.

It is a unique small work; it presents great three-dimensionality in its volumes and is completely hand-glazed. Frida is dressed in white, with her classic features: a large mouth, very thick black eyebrows and the ever-present crown of coloured flowers on her head.

On her leg the artist draws hearts: these are distinctive elements in her art and very recurrent as they symbolise her heart that almost stopped beating and which she uses as a message of optimism and positivity.
