Light Sculpture
Light sculptures are artworks in between sculpture and design. These art's objects have got lights inside that make them shine. Lightings can be different: led, simple lights, fluorescent lights and the subjects are very different too.
The illumination can be used to give more psychological depth, just like in the artworks of Andrea Morreale, where the led is a sounding board - connecting art and our deep inner - to a sunrise or a sunset, or the deep night.
Christian Gobbo uses the illumination in a different way: he realizes a fluorescent trail to frame his sculptures and to underline the importance of the subject represented.
Carlo Massimo Franchi, the artist who plays more with colors, created colored sculptures where the lights make two-dimensional effects.
