Artwork by Giovanni Malesci, artistic heir to the painting of the Macchiaioli and who, in particular, looks to the art of Giovanni Fattori. It is made in oil on panel and dates from 1953.
Malesci painted a view of a landscape of Ostend, a Belgian port city.
The artist remains faithful to a style oriented towards the art of the Macchiaioli, preferring colour to outline, with details that are not detailed but are nevertheless immediately recognisable.
The work is signed and dated in the lower left-hand corner.
