Artwork by Giovanni Malesci, artistic heir to the painting of the Macchiaioli and who, in particular, looks to the art of Giovanni Fattori. It is made in oil on canvas and dates from 1965. 

Malesci is painting a maritime landscape. The painter seems to be observing and immortalising the scene from the shore, where he observes and paints a group of people in the sea walking peacefully. They are probably tourists on holiday. Malesci thus depicts a scene that is very familiar to us, a situation that each of us has experienced and observed during our holidays at the seaside. 

The artist remains faithful to a style oriented towards the art of the Macchiaioli, preferring colour to outline, with details that are not detailed but are nevertheless immediately recognisable.

The work is signed and dated in the bottom right-hand corner.
