Spain

Two of the most recognizable symbols of Spain are the bullfight and Pablo Picasso. Picasso himself created a lot of drawings and lithographs dedicated to this Spanish tradition or reporting the figure of the bull, like in Guernica, his most famous painting. Picasso loved taking part at this show, probably because of its protagonist, the bull, an animal he depicted obsessively in his artworks. Metaphorically, he was always fascinated by the figure of the Minotaur, a creature half human and half taurine.: symbol of the human inner fight between passion and thinking, instinct and rationality.

Some contemporary artists (like Ennio Morlotti, Ernesto Treccani e Oscar Morosini) portray essential portraits of Picasso(as a symbol of Spanish Art,) others, like Enrico Pambianchi, portrays the Iberian Royal Family or revisits subjects, previously drawn by Spanish artists like Velazquez.

Tributing an entire section to Spain, we can not forget two important exponents: Salvador Dalì and Francisco Goya who - with different styles, times and subjects - are united by the same Spanish origin that has influenced so much their life and, overall, their artistic production.
