The Sculpture: lito-screen printing by the surrealist master Salvador Dalì. In the middle, there is a rock where it is sculptured a incomplete woman body from the back. The hammer is still scratching the rock and some little fragments fall down from the big sculpture in the middle. On the back, we can see a second piece of rock: half woman half stone, we can glimpse a female figure's face that seems to complete the first one. The landscape is surrealistic, where lines bring our gaze towards a single vanishing point, and a rocky place reminds to Port Lligat, his native land and childhood memory.

Dalì was a versatile artist, indeed some of his most famous artworks are sculptures or installations. For example, “The elephant with thin and long paws”, was inspired by a Gian Lorenzo Bernini's sculpture, in particular from a base in Rome that represents an elephant with an obelisk. We remember some important works: in 1939 he planned the surrealist pavilion called Venus dream for the Universal Exposition, that included a lot of odd sculptures; in 1969 Dalì created a big sculpture that was positioned on the Eurofestival's stage in the Madrid Real Theatre.

The lito-screen printing is signed lower right and numbered lower left.
