Stefano Bolcato, Stepping Out - Roy Lichtenstein, Graphic Fine Art, 30x37 cm

This limited edition graphic is a reinterpretation of Roy Lichtenstein's famous work "Stepping Out" from 1978.

For Stepping Out, (1978), Roy Lichtenstein took one of Fernand Leger's famous compositions, known as the Three Musicians, and added a female figure with dishevelled features reminiscent of the women painted by Picasso in the 1930s.

The viewer sees a man and a woman, elegantly dressed. The man has a straw hat and a flower in his lapel. The woman, with slight features, has only one eye set to the side, a mouth and a lock of blond hair and rests her face on a mirror. She has wavy blond hair, a blue eye and very red lips.

The scene represents all the subjects of the original painting, but the artist has replaced them with elements from the world of Lego. 

The work is a tribute to the great master of Pop Art, in this original narrative that reinvents and reinterprets numerous masterpieces from the history of art.

The work is numbered 21/150 in the lower left-hand corner and signed in the lower right-hand corner, where it also bears his original stamp.
