Surrealistic Concert: work by the contemporary artist Meloniski da Villacidro, who uses the typical and dreamlike traits of his style to represent an architectural complex as a tribute to Milan for Expo 2015. Hold by a thin thread to a street lamp, a moon is fluctuating in a nocturnal sky speckled of stars. In this composition, Meloniski melds architectural elements belonging to different styles, offering an idea of complexive harmony: the facade of Sforzesco Castle, for example, is indeed combined to a skyscraper of modern aspect like Pelli's tower. It is exactly to Milan meant as fusion of elements that the artist decides to pay a tribute with his work. Through his works Meloniski invite us to look at a fantastic dimension that the modern cities take off (the stairs near the moon are a clear signal of this message). Always experimenter of various and different techniques, Meloniski combines also in this work traditional painting and three-dimensional inserts: thanks to the application of details (such as pice of cloth for the moon's musicians) he creates an alternation of surfaces plastic and dynamic. The frame is made by the artist himself: it completes the artwork very well.
