Loris Dogana, Heart of glass, acrylic and marker on wood, 100x80 cm

Work on wood by contemporary artist Loris Dogana. Provocative and ironic, Dogana in his works often combines image and text to strongly communicate his message. In this case, the artist portrays an anatomical heart, within which freshly poured red wine flows, the heart then becomes a transparent glass goblet. This creates duality with the other work in the series, "Brain of glass", which instead depicts a brain within which clear water flows.

Perhaps the artist wants to express the disruptive force of the heart, understood not only as an organ, but as a carrier of instincts and irrational energies symbolized by wine.
