Giorgio Morandi, Still life, lithography, 28x24 cm, 1946

In this lithography, a group of five objects composed by two bottles and three containers, are hidden techical and semantic studies behind the simple appearence. Here Morandi studies the relationships between figures and colours and lights and shades making easily recognizable containers coloured by soft colours, which outline their surface, almost like the only way possible to phisically rapresent the objects, that seem as one thing with the screen behind thanks to the main presence of white colour. The absence of light plays gives an effect of immediacy, like if the work is an immediate production of the author's mind and not much elborated, like a spontaneus result of the solitude conception that pervades the reserved and solitary personality of the artist.
