It is a warm, luminous, bright colour, which is why it easily catches our attention, more than any other colour. All yellow objects give off a special light that opens the viewers' eyes. In connection with this openness, yellow is also synonymous with energy and progress, a colour that pushes towards novelty. It is also often associated with optimism, in colour therapy for example, yellow is used to regulate the good mood. Yellow are in fact elements that radiate serenity, such as the sun, but also sunflowers, stars...

There are numerous references to positive feelings in mass culture through this colour: first of all, in the Disney film Inside Out, the colour of the character who personifies Joy is yellow!

In the world of art, too, this colour takes on various connotations, and it is often recurrent in the works of the best-known artists and movements. Just think of Van Gogh's sunflowers, Klimt's paintings and those of the Fauves, for example.
