Loris Dogana, So close So far, in vitro graphics, 27x27x6 cm (with frame)

This work by Loris Dogana depicts a man and a woman in an embrace, their heads are replaced by glass bowls with two fish inside. The two animals, immersed in the water, kiss each other through the glass, while the two lovers are bound together by a chain. In the background, the colour red takes the shape of the two fish drawn on the glass, overlapping with the figures and thus creating a game of perception in which colour and lines, feelings and reason, find a balance sought by the spectator himself.

The title ironically refers to the fact that the two characters are physically close to each other but the kiss is prevented by the glass, which does not allow them to meet completely.
