Ottmar Hörl, Ermine (white), plastic sculpture, 23x27x15 cm

This sculpture by Ottmar Hörl was created in 2009 for the project "Lady with an Ermine - Giving and Taking" on the occasion of the exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci's painting "Lady with an Ermine" at the Czartoryski museum in Krakow.

As is typical of the production of this artist the artwork consists not only of its essence, but from the elements that surround it, that's why Hörl makes his installation interact with the great work of the Italian master, the ermine then come out of the canvas and integrate into the urban fabric of the city that is hosting the masterpiece vinciano, becoming 3D objects.

The square of Santa Maria Maddalena on that occasion was invaded by 1,500 ermines.
