The “Per la Spagna” artworks are made by Vedova after the long journey with his wife Annabianca across the Iberian peninsula, where he deepen his knowlegìdge about spanish painting and social-politic situation of the Franco dictatorship ages, coming into contact with the local intellectuals. Conformed with this dangerous situation, his art is intense, sanguine, almost violent and is made with a fast and nevrotic brush stroke_which associate him with Pollock_. The artwork here presented shows contrasts between black and red and the white canvas. This neurosis shows his paintings procedure; like tell his students, he dips a scrubbing brush in a bucket with colour, then he violently hits the canvas surface, like to suffocate the white surface with contrasting colours. Like a 90s Tintoretto, admirated by Vedova for his light and dark plays, the artists crosses red and black shades making them caughting. This way of painting could be analized as the act of the desire to suffocate an inconscius made of memory, and conditionings, that can't be wiped out, but momentarily suspended, to make way fot the sensations of surprise, unexpected and to the dimension of generative memory. We can understand that the power of the work is traslated into strenght that violentely looks for its shape, but only reaching an uncertain balance.
