Black and White

We propose you a selection of works in black and white.

White can be understood as the absence of colour as well as the sum of all colours, the total presence of light. In this journey, white is presented as a bright and shining element. This colour represents purity and order. White is light and snow, which is why it is synonymous with strictness and spirituality. Black, on the other hand, is understood as the opposite of white because it can represent the union of all colours, especially in terms of pigments, but also darkness, hence the lack of them. This colour is the most fascinating of all, a symbol of elegance and mystery. It represents emptiness and the end, but also the beginning from which something can be created.

These two colours have always been in opposition. The main example is found in the oriental philosophy of Yin and Yang. The two drops represent good and evil, opening and closing, male and female.

However, the contrast also gives rise to the complement; black and white in fact compensate each other and the union of them produces infinite balanced nuances.
