Abstract

Art can be figurative or not figurative. The first represents, as subject, people, animals or objects that exist, the second represents unrealistic and/or geometric forms; this one is also called “Abstract Art”.

There is an art movement, born in the XX century, called “Abstractism” that includes a great part of non-figurative art produced until now. An example of this current is Vassilij Kandisnskij's art.

In contemporary art, where the most important feature is the representation of the idea, abstract forms are very widespread and give life to artworks dominated by coloured compositions (for example, Franchi, Dorazio and Marchesini's art), or to sculptures composed by plastic and Svarovskij like in Del Buda's canvases.
