Antonio Dias, The desert, screen printing, 55x76 cm, 1975

Serigraph on paper by Antonio Dias, Brazilian artist close to the avant-garde movements of the 1900s. His art is conceptual and symbolic; uses an extremely reduced pictorial-graphic code. The background is abstract and evanescent, the elements are reduced to a minimum. The addition of words creates an interesting effect, even if the artist purposely proposes phrases that have no denominative value of the image represented.

The word, therefore, is also dispersed, dissolving the meaning itself. The screen printing is hand signed and numbered in a limited edition. The complete edition consists of 40 copies in Arabic numerals and X in Roman numerals.
