Contemporary artist Francesco Musante's work "The Invisible Cities" is a romantic tribute to the poetry of Calvino, with whom the artist feels a creative affinity and who he cites very often in his works as a source of inspiration.

"Following the written words of Italo Calvino, I visited the fifty-five (55) invisible cities, losing myself in an endless journey".

The technique used is material serigraphy that restores the thickness of the colour and brushstrokes to the eye and touch.

In the bottom right-hand corner, in the red box, Musante makes a declaration and a tribute of sincere esteem towards some of the artists who have most inspired him, including Fabrizio De Andrè, Pablo Neruda and Marc Chagall.

Work signed at lower right and numbered 156/200 at lower left.
