"Cypress road with pony" is an oil on canvas by the artist Giuseppe Comparini, heir to Macchiaioli's painting and impressionist technique. Landscape painting constitutes the most important part of his artistic production, where nature prevails while the human figure appears, most of the time, in scenes of rural life. They are always undefined individuals, simple expressions of life and nature, like the protagonist of this work, walking along the country road with his horse, behind which a woman is walking. The contrast of light and shadow, given by the dark colours of the landscape and the sunlight that glimpsed from the clouds, embellishes the scene, giving it tranquillity.
