Against a backdrop dominated by a cobalt blue sky, fading to purple below, the artist depicts an urban landscape which he places in a dreamlike and fantastic atmosphere. The artist paints a complex of buildings inside an eggshell, a symbol of birth. As he states in the title of the work, it is the birth of his cosmic city..

The whole composition is characterised by an idea of lightness and gracefulness, typical of the dreamlike and fantastic scenes depicted by the artist. Always experimenting with various different techniques, Meloniski also combines traditional painting and three-dimensional inserts of different kinds in this work, thus creating a plastic and dynamic alternation of surfaces.
