Graphic work by Lucio Fontana belonging to the series of "Little Theatres" dating back to 1965. At the beginning of the Sixties, Fontana's artistic activity went more and more towards the studies of "Ambienti spaziali" (Space rooms). He created about 170 works belonging to the cycle of the LIttle Theatres. Characterized by frames that lead back to the concept of theatrical scenes, the artist made a hypothesis of spatial figuration. A monochrome backdrop, furrowed by holes can be associated with the sky in front of which stand out figures created through different shapes and materials. In the first creations of this cycle, the images are mainly abstract, and then, over time, they become figurative references, particularly trees. The chromatic choices also intensify the contrast between the backdrop and the figure, creating marked two-tone effects.

The work then becomes a stage and the space represented is that of the theater box, the spatial depth, therefore, is not represented, but is real, as evidenced by the shadows that the figures cast on the backdrop monochrome.

The work is signed and numbered 9/50 at the bottom left. The work is published in the catalogue of graphic works by Lucio Fontana "Ruhé & Rigo".
