Loris Dogana, Donald Trump "Make walls great again", acrylic and ink on wood, 40x50 cm

Artwork by the contemporary artist Loris Dogana who dedicated an entire collection to the concept of love at the power. In this case, he represents Donald Trump, new president of the United States of America. Populist warlord of the contemporary America in search of an historical identity to defend, the president is represented as a gold knight in a suit and tie, with helmet and hackle with his famous lock of hair. The anachronistic fight for the restoration of an America, great in the past, is translated in an image that alludes to the Rinascimental painting, in particular to the portrait of Federico da Montefeltro (with his wife Battista Sforza) by Piero della Francesca. While Federico da Montelfeltro is painted with his face discovered in front of the religion and the culture, Donald Traump mantains his gold helmet and he brings as a gift a brick, symbol of the brutality. The result is a caricature of a conservative and presumptuous warlord as the image of a gold puppet.
