Giovanni Salvati, Taumascopio, inkject print on glossy Canson paper, 70x50 cm

Taumascopio: photographic coloured work by Giovanni Salvati, which represents a glimpse of Pelli Tower of Milan. The picture is taken from Gae Aulenti square, the hub of Milano Porta Nuova urban project on which the skyscraper by the Argentinian architect overlooks. The pinnacle reaching towards the sky designed by Cesar Pelli catalyses the eye of the viewer, while the polished surface of the Tower reflects the light of a bright milanese sky. The structure, simultaneously heavy and light, is emblematic of a “raising city”, of a Milan evolving through the urban project of Milano Porta Nuova.
