Oil painting by Gerolamo Induno, renowned Italian artist and Risorgimento patriot. The painting represents the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
He participated in 1855 in the Universal Exhibition in Paris, then devoted himself to historical representations of events of the Risorgimento. In the last years of his life, he devoted himself to neo-eighteenth-century subjects and bourgeois scenes, very requested by the customers of the period.
The work is signed and dated below left.
