Lithograph by the Surrealist master Salvador Dali, reproducing the subject of the unique work created in 1945. The full title of the work is "Napoleon's nose, transformed into a pregnant woman, walking his shadow with melancholy among the original ruins". The title is as surreal as the scene: a sort of crucifixion of a woman on the right, a weeping man below, dancers on the right and Napoleon's head in the centre, represented as if it were a sculpture. The emperor's likeness is also present in the ruins behind.

The atmosphere is surreal; every object we observe seems to be detached from its context. The work is charged with the artist's interpretative genius.

Watermark on BFK RIVES France infinity sheet.

The work is signed in the lower right-hand corner of the plate and numbered CLXXXI/MM in the lower left-hand corner.

The lithograph bears the characteristic dry stamp of the publisher GDALI.
