Lucio Fontana (Rosario di Santa Fe 1899-Milan 1968) He attended the sculpture course of Wildt at Accademia di Brera.

In the 30s he has his first solo exhibition at the Galleria del Milione, with which he will collaborate over the years. After spending the first half of the 40s in Buenos Aires, he returns to Milan where he will write in 48-49 the Manifesto, which launches the foundations of the Space Movement.

There are numerous techniques experimented by Fontana over the years, after the beginning with painting, he dedicated himself to working in ceramics during the 30s and then moved on to an experimentation that combines conceptual and material together, giving rise to spatial concepts.

Even in his graphic works, Fontana manages to give considerable importance to the two-dimensional surface; in this work presented, in fact, the dry relief brings out from the paper the figure of a seated nude woman, in what seems like a moment of intimate contemplation.

The work is signed by hand at the bottom right and numbered in an edition of 170 copies.
