This work by Lucio Fontana is a postcard, printed in silkscreen, depicting a two-color (black and green) geometric illustration on a white background. The postcard is an original multiple, published on the occasion of the exhibition at the Iolas Gallery in Paris.

It also presents 16 holes in the center, which follow a regular rhythmic sequence, a typical subject of the artist's spatial art. In fact, he realizes this pictorial cycle called "The Holes" starting from 1949 and continuing in the following years, before the creation of the famous Cuts, which he will then bring in parallel.

The holes too, are the representation of a constant search for a return to the form, clearing the traditional distinction between painting and sculpture. The holes made in the surface of the canvas open a passage towards a further space, beyond the monochromatic surface of the canvas. They were created in the central moment of Fontana's spatial research and their meaning goes beyond the desire to be purely graphic elements of the work, entering into a relationship with light and space itself.

The work is neither signed nor numbered.
