"The solitude of the people at the circus" is a graphic work by the Italian painter and sculptor Giorgio de Chirico, made in 1969.

The work depicts a circus environment, there are some typical elements of the circus, such as a marquee, musical instruments, a horse and a flag. Despite this, the environment appears desolate and bare, and there is no trace of the presence of spectators.

The work is characterized by the use of an unusual spatial perspective, which creates a sense of unreality and mystery. The light is used in a masterful way to create a suggestive and dreamlike atmosphere, and the shadows that are projected on the ground accentuate the effect of depth and three-dimensionality.

the work is taken from the folder "Auf der Galerie", edited Gotthard De Beauclair (Frankfurt) and printed by the printer Bulla in Rome.
