Neo-Futurism

Neo-futurism is an artistic movement born during the Sixties regarding art, design and architecture at the same time. The founder was Daniel Schinasi, a painter half Italian and half Egyptian who, at the beginning of Seventies, created the Manifesto of the movement. Schinasi's will was to adapt the principles of futurism for the contemporary time.

This movement is fully part of avantgarde, and it has got peculiarities for each artistic areas. Neo-futurism's architecture has got an unique style with an extraordinary modernity, marked by tall skyscrapers and palaces made with essential lines, adorned by basic colours (in accordance with minimalism of contemporary art).

Regarding art and design, neo-futurists' artworks are made with bright colours and by the union of both, giving life to shining sculptures or paintings, typical of this artistic current. Marco Lodola is one of the most important neo-futurism artist; he paints coloured characters on glass or plexiglass, creating a surprising three-dimensional effect. The deep joy communicated by the represented subjects - like musicians, dancers and singers - are perfect to express the pacifist principles this current is based on, wanting to express an educative art, based on the equity.
