The work depicts a female figure dressed in an elegant way on horseback and equipped with a wide-brimmed hat, which is located in a bare and uninhabited environment. The woman is depicted in profile while balancing on a single foot on the saddle of the horse she is mounting.

The work is characterized by the use of an unusual spatial perspective, which creates a sense of unreality and mystery. The human figure is represented in a stylized and geometric way, and the shadows that are projected on the ground accentuate the effect of depth and three-dimensionality. The light, moreover, is used in a masterful way to create a suggestive and dreamlike atmosphere.

The work is taken from the folder "Auf der Galerie", edited Gotthard De Beauclair (Frankfurt) and printed by the printer Bulla in Rome.
