Lithograph with portrait of a young girl. Nothing is known about who the girl is and why she is holding a ball of wool with her finger. The artist represents her turned three quarters round and with her hands resting on each other. The pose certainly takes up a long tradition of portraiture, it is not by chance that we can see similarities with Leonardo's Mona Lisa and Raphael's portrait of Maddalena Strozzi, both in terms of the pose and the straight look towards the spectator, as if he knew of our presence.

The style, far from the Renaissance one, is naturally contemporary, with a great attention to the drawing: witnessed in particular by the rendering of the hands and the face.

Hand signed work at the bottom left and numbered XIII/XXX.
