Sunset Boulevard is an acrylic on canvas by Francesco Palvarini. In this painting, the painter depicts the sunset in a city in an abstract manner and with strong, fast brushstrokes.

On the sides of the painting, barely hinted at in black and white, are the architecture of the buildings that frame the painting; of the same colour are the pavements of the street, hinted at just below the pallazzi.

The predominant colour in the painting is yellow ochre tending almost towards orange, which clearly recalls the classic colours of the sunset; we find it in the background of the painting, made up of decisive and hard horizontal brushstrokes.ù

Splashes of this colour, together with the bright yellow are also present here and there in the side architecture of the buildings and in the pavement of the street; these have the function of diffusing the sunset light on the architecture and creating a homogenous and three-dimensional effect.
