Mario Tapia

Mario Tapia was born in Valdivia (Chile) in 1939. His artistic production is focused on his homeland. He represents exotic athmosperes of Chilean forests suspended between memories and dreams with a style nearby Symbolism and Magic Realism. Fascinating and poetics landscapes which translate with warm colours poems by his friend Pablo Neruda

He started painting at eleven years old, he graduated in architecture. First he was a teacher of painting, sculpture and ceramic at the University of Santiago and last he taught only ceramic.

He leaves his homeland in 1970 to go to Italy. He lives and works at San Giuliano Milanese where he devotes his life to painting and sculpture. He obtains a great success, esteemed by critics, he exhibits his works in Italy and Europe (from Spain to France, from Germany to England).

He prematurely dies in 2010 and the town of San Giuliano dedicates the Espositions Hall to him.
